Today travelling is a comfortable
experience thanks to modern modes of travel, especially the many budget
airlines that available around the world now. People travel for different
reasons. Whatever your reasons, you are bound to experience a lot of things
and this itself is an invaluable life education. It is a joy to come across
different culture and different life-styles and thus will be able to broaden
your outlook on life. Great travellers like Marco Polo, Columbus and Vasco da
Gama were in fact intrepid sailors who set forth from their respective lands
and by their discoveries showed the world pathways to knowledge. Travel
supplements knowledge you gained from books and refines it. Today, almost all the universities expect
their students to travel far and wide before they take their degrees. It is
believed that knowledge gained from books is theoretical and that in order to
make it practically useful, the students must supplement it by the varied
experience of the arena of the world. One who is against travel may be
narrow-minded and he may decry anything that is foreign. Travel makes
possible contacts with others and foster understanding which is so necessary
for peace in the modern global world. |
